Thanks to a partnership between Sampson County Regional Hospital, The Anonymous Trust and the YMCA of Southeastern NC, the Sampson County YMCA opened its doors in Clinton NC on June 9, 2022. This was a shining example of the fact that our organization takes Social Responsibility to heart. By the end of the year Sampson County YMCA surpassed budget projections for membership, established a committed Advisory Board and was well on the way to serving the community through programs and memberships. As an association, thousands of volunteers play a key role in our success. They serve on various committees, Association and Advisory Boards. They help with special events, coach sports teams and work on our Annual Fundraising Campaign. In 2022 we provided $340,000 in financial assistance, making sure those who want to be a part of the YMCA can be. We offer programs and opportunities for all ages, including those among us who are older, working toward better health, or just trying to maintain. Population Health Programs like Blood Pressure Self-Monitoring, the YMCA's Diabetes Prevention Program, Moving for Better Balance, Pedal for Parkinson's, and LiveStrong (for cancer survivors) allow anyone the opportunity to better their mind, body and spirit at the Y. In 2022 we were awarded $50000 in Grants and from private donors, local corporations, and Foundations to ensure we can continue providing these much-needed services in our community. We provided FREE TEEN MEMBERSHIPS during the summer, giving youth a safe place to learn, grow and thrive. Additionally, in Q4 2022 we received a $190,000 grant from the New Hanover County Endowment which allowed us to hire a Youth Services Program Director to specifically provide and create new programs for local Teens, who have traditionally been underserved. The 2022 YMCA of SENC Annual Campaign raised $406,425, surpassing our stated campaign goal. We also increased the potential percentage of financial assistance to up to 75%. This scholarship adjustment further spotlights the importance of Social Responsibility for our organization.
