Healthy living: the y advocates healthy living through programs that focus on spirit, mind and body. In 2020, 85,000 people were provided the supportive relationships and environments they needed to successfully pursue good health. Many of our programs are bilingual so as to meet the needs of our community. See schedule o for additional details.
Social responsibility: the y provides a variety of programs that help people deepen positive values, learn the value of giving back, and commit to learning. The y partners with more than 20 local community organizations to identify needs and respond to them - such as programs for at-risk teens, after school volunteer work, leadership in training programs, internships, employment and values based programming. In 2020, the y engaged 6,000 youth and Young high school students in programs that developed social responsibility, strengthened the community, and helped build the foundation for generations to thrive. For additional details, see schedule o.
Youth development: the Ymca is a leader in nurturing the potential of every child and teen. Every year, the Ymca helps more than 50,000 local youth through programs such as before and after school care, school day off programs, after school enrichment classes in the local elementary schools, day and resident camping, youth sports, teen leadership camps and leadership programs, free water safety programs, swim teams and swim lessons. All Ymca programs offer a range of experiences that broaden cognitive, social, physical, and emotional growth.
