Crossroads Program: provides housing and transportation to families of wounded, ill, and injured post 9/11 service members receiving extended medical care and/or rehabilitation at local military or Veterans Administration hospitals in the greater Washington DC metropolitan area. YRF provides free rental cars, hotel stays, and fully-furnished apartments to keep families together during extensive medical treatment and rehabilitation.
Engagement Program: YRF engages patients recovering at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda MD and helps them escape from the monotony of hospital life by hosting on-base events like holiday parties and barbecues and off-base activities such as trips to local sporting and cultural events in the Washington, DC area. YRF also provides care packages, gift cards, and other assistance to help relieve financial burden.
Keystone Program: From its beginning, YRF has paid special attention to the needs of military caregivers. Through this program, YRF provides military caregivers sanctuary, skills, and stability through monthly respite, social events, and retreats, and educational and life skills training. The Keystone Program also works with donors to provide retreats to caregivers to provide a break from their caregiving duties, to provide training and life skills, to encourage wellness, and to provide bonding and networking with those in similar circumstances.
