Xquisite

Xquisite provided full-time employment for one survivor whose insight and skills have allowed us to fully understand the challenges of providing for themselves with a sustainable wage, away from the extreme manipulation and control of their abuser. Their insight has also given us greater knowledge of trauma informed care while navigating the circumstances they need to overcome to be free.

Advocacy is a long-term commitment and often takes time to see a glimmer of forward momentum. We provided court support for one of the youths we serve who had serious sex trafficking indicators who testified against their abuser, subsequentially became a runaway and angry, no longer wanting services. We reconnected several months later, and we were able to help them understand what sex trafficking is and what they experienced. This client now has become very receptive and happy to receive services. The transformation within this client is what drives us to continue to walk alongside survivors, helping them see their value and potential.

The juvenile court and juvenile probation services have seen a rise in sexual exploitation in local youth and as a part of their sentencing has partnered with Xquisite advocates to provide, during probation one-on-one mentoring and curriculum to allow youth opportunities to gain understanding and tools in particular the intersection of sex trafficking indicators and what they are experiencing or being exposed to daily. The need for youth support, education and awareness has become apparatent.
