Program areas at Wyoming Historical Society
Publish annals of Wyoming and Wyoming history news. The annal is a quarterly journal devoted to a broader public understanding of all aspects of history. The Wyoming history news is a newsletter published ten times per year. It provides news of activities of people interested in Wyoming history, recognizes achievements of members, alerts members to upcoming events, and shares chapter information. Both of these publications are benefits of membership in the Wyoming state Historical Society.
Conduct annual history day contest. This is an academic competition for students in grades 6-12. The students prepare entries such as exhibits, documentaries, performances, websites, or papers based on and event or individual who has made an impact on Wyoming history. The students compete at the district level, then the state level, and, if successful, then on to the national level.
