Fostering philanthropy in our Community - as a Foundation, wcf partners with local individuals and organizations in creation of funds targeted at Community needs. Management of their funds and assisting in their fundraising efforts is one aspect of our role in fostering philanthropy. In addition, wcf raises charitable funds through our fundraising events (e.g. Friends fest), community-wide efforts like give to the max, a year-end campaign and targeted events and promotions throughout the year. We consult with individuals about creation of funds and legacy giving. We also educate the Community on needs of underprivileged and otherwise challenged parts of our Community.
Each year, wcf makes donations to Community organizations in the areas of food insecurity, youth development, public safety and health and wellness. During this year, additional emphasis was placed on those that addressed racial equity. In addition, holiday programs develop food packs and collect winter clothing for needy students in area schools. Funds are raised through targeted fundraising and as part of the proceeds from the fundraising activities throughout the year.
The angels of hope memorial-woodbury has been created to honor all children who have passed too soon. The memorial angel is intended to be a place of peace that provides a tranquil environment to reflect, remember, and connect with our children forever. <p> we are deeply grateful for your generous donation to the angel memorial fund. Your kindness and support will go a long way in helping our Community heal from the devastating loss of a child. The bash for brains exists not only to support research and advancements through the alzheimers association, but also to support the bash for brains fund. Through our partnership with the Woodbury Community Foundation, we seeded the fund in 2018, with a mission to give grants to local families impacted by the disease. The mission of the Woodbury heritage society is to preserve and document woodburys history and to aid residents of our Community in learning and understanding more about woodburys early years. The Woodbury heritage society is a non-profit, tax-exempt organization founded in october 1983. A board of directors governs the societys activities. Elections to the board are held each spring at the annual meeting. A newsletter is sent to all members to provide news of the organization.
