Program areas at Wisner Community Development
During the year, the Wisner Community Development group young adult stakeholders helped to create Community projects at the city park: planning to build splash pad, extend the picnic shelter and add bathhouse to restrooms; others worked with the local school and Nebraska Community for kids investigating childcare options; advised and assisted new and prospective businesses; continue to explore expansion locations for an industrial tract and businesses.
Recruited a dentist to Wisner with the assistance of Nebraska office of rural health. Wisner Community Development continuted to participate in the Nebraska loan repayment program for dr steven ready as part of the recruitment package.
Continued Development of the grandview addition to provide residential lots for homeowners and commercial lots for businesses. By the end of 2023, sales of six residential and three commercial lots were completed and commitments made for nine of the 10 remaining residential lots with paving and utilities installed. Continued to work with the city of Wisner on tax increment financing for the addition. The city will move forward with infrastructure for 17 additional lots in the residential area.
