Winston-Salem Dog Training Club

Competitions: the objective of competitions is to promote cooperation and good sportsmanship among its members and to showcase all of the hard-work put in by the handlers and their dogs. Competitions include holding obedience trials, tracking tests, and trials for other performance events. 2020 held 7 trials in various performance events.

Companion classes: the objective of the classes is to disseminate knowledge for the Training of dogs and their handlers. Winston-Salem Dog Training Club offers several classes to dogs of all ages to help handlers teach skills to their canine. Examples of the many classes offered include- puppy Training, manners and obedience, canine citizenship, therapy Dog Training, and farm Dog Training. Competitive classes: classes offered for those with a competitive spirit and want to train to compete in trials, include obedience, rally, agility, tracking and scent work. Due to covid all classes for the general public ended in march, 2020 due to the statewide shutdown mandate from the governor and nc department of health and human services. Some member only classes were held with limited participation for the remainder of the year. Wsdtc opened for regular classes in april, 2021. In 2020, there were 42 classes with 294 teams Training.
