Whidbey Island Dance Theatre

The Nutcracker - the 30th annual community production of The Nutcracker included all 16 members from Whidbey Island Dance Theatre company, 3 Professional Dancers and approximately 35 volunteer dancers from the community. The production was smaller than we have had in previous years due to facility restrictions due to COVID-19. The production gives company members the experience of public performance as part of their pre-professional experience. It also gives the community an opportunity to participate in productions.

The Ballet Alliance TBA Festival This year the Senior company dancers were able to attend the annual festival held in El Paso, TX. The festival offered dancers the opportunity to perform for other TBA companies, learn from other professionals in the field, and increase their love and knowledge of dance. The TBA Festival brings member companies of The Ballet Alliance together to work on pieces and learn new dances and techniques from other choreographers thereby expanding the growth of our company dancers.

Celebration of Dance This production provides all the company members the opportunity to showcase choreographed pieces to the public. Several of the senior company members also have the opportunity to choreograph their own pieces and teach them to other company members to be performed for the show. This year, two additional modern dance companies were brought in to perform with our company.
