Program areas at Wheaton Arts
Cultural Center: Central to our mission, the Cultural Center offers accessibility to a single site that weaves and interprets the development and coexistence of Contemporary Art, Decorative Arts, and Multi-Cultural Traditional Arts. The Arts community established by the Center provides hands-on engagement that offers a doorway to the arts at a variety of educational and emotional levels.
Museum of American Glass: the foundation of the Organization's program infrastructure, it houses one of the nation's largest collections of American glass and encompasses pieces from the first glass made in America to modern fine contemporary glass art. Accredited by the American Alliance of Museums, it's glass and library collections are a primary resource for scholars, collectors, other instititions, and artists.
Glass Studio / Fellowship Program: Considered the "heartbeat" of the Organization, it is the primary asset used to share the creative process with publice audiences in an extraordinary public facility. Up to ten working residencies are awarded yearly, providing artists with 24-hour studio access, materials, housing, and stipends. The collaboration and exchange of ideas among the Fellows enhance a productive climate, supporting the discovery of new vision and resources for each.
