Program areas at Wellspring Community
Wellspring offers a day program for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Our day program partners with 120 adults with i/dd each week. This programming provides these adults the opportunity to engage with peers and the broader Community through enrichment activities in performing arts, health and fitness, life and leadership skills, and many other educational opportunities. Participants in our program see increased confidence, growth in communication skills and overall better behavior management as they interact with peers, volunteers and Community members regularly. Families see increased independence and a greater sense of overall wellbeing when their loved ones participate in Wellspring's program.
The Wellspring virtual program offers the warmth, values, and expertise of our in-person program combined with the accessibility and flexibility of an online experience. The classes they teach fall into one of our five major subjects: learning & enrichment, arts & performances, health & fitness, life & leadership skills, and social responsibility.
Wellspring believes that meaningful work should be a part of the life of an adult with i/dd. Our work opportunities program provides the opportunity for over 80 adults with i/dd to work and earn money. The Wellspring & co. bakery and art studio teach job skills related to baking and ceramics. The castle rock collective employs 38 of our participants who work each week in a coffee shop that serves the public in downtown castle rock, Colorado. Participants in these work opportunities show growth in independence and confidence as well as experiencing the pride of a job well done and earning a paycheck or dividend check.
