Program areas at Wayside Recovery Center

Women's treatment Center (wtc) provides residential treatment for up to 41 women at a time and is designed to serve women with substance use disorders and/or mental health conditions who: (1) have had previous unsuccessful treatment experiences; (2) struggle with a serious mental illness; (3) have experienced significant developmental and/or situational trauma; (4) are impoverished and have long term homeless circumstances; and/or (5) are pregnant, post-partum, or parenting. Women receive coordinated behavioral and physical health care tailored to their medical needs and treatment history while receiving continuing care and supportive services from our skilled and caring staff including counselors, clinical case managers and peer support specialists. These wrap-around services ensure that women are connected to health services; understand how to establish and maintain a sober support network; receive assistance in financial and work readiness; and are connected to safe, affordable housing options. Wellness outpatient Center (wwc) provides substance use disorder and mental health outpatient services to women who: (1) are from unserved populations or received services elsewhere without success; (2) have completed inpatient residential treatment but need ongoing support for relapse management and coping strategies; are at an earlier stage in their disease to diminish consequences of the disease; (3) need overall health of themselves and their families addressed; and (4) would otherwise result in needing emergency care. For each woman we create an individualized treatment plan and monitor her needs with the ability to transition her between our services to access the appropriate levels of care to diminish recurrence of use and provide long-term stability. Location: st. paul, mn and st. louis park. In 2019, 147 women received outpatient treatment with an average length of service is 76 days.

Family treatment Center (ftc) is one of only five providers in Minnesota that allows women to receive residential sud treatment while maintaining the family unit by allowing mothers to enter treatment pregnant or along with her children to avoid the long term effects of separation. Many women are involved in the child protection system and are working towards reunification or enter treatment while pregnant and deliver their baby while in our care. Women receive services for addiction, trauma and parenting; understand how their addiction contributes to the adverse childhood experiences (aces) of their children; improve their relational skills to achieve community engagement successes; and ultimately break the multi-generational transmission of risk.
