Program areas at Warrior Ranch Foundation
Equine Interaction: Throughout 2023 WRF supported 114 individual veterans and first responders suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Syndrome through 37 day-long Retreats (6 hours), and 15 Mini-Retreats (3 hours). WRF conducted 4 demonstrations to more than 5 people, including veterans and first responders evaluating WRF for future participation, as well as supporters, government leadership, and donors. Expanded program to include riding and roping interaction.
Horse Rescue: WRF adopted out 1 mini horse and did not rescue any horses in 2023. WRF currently cares for 2 horses. Training continues on the two horses to rehabilitate, retrain and re-purpose the horse in preparation for adoption to a new home. As part of the re-training, the horses are used in retreats and carriage driving.
Driving: Throughout 2022 WRF supported 23 sessions were held for veterans and first responders, 3 per session. 28 veterans and first responders benefited from participation across multiple sessions.
