The quality of life was enriched in the Wabash Valley through the Foundation's grants to sustain social service, civic affairs and arts and cultural organizations. The Foundation provides numerous grants throughout the community in various areas to help meet the needs of the community and provide a means of addressing developing issues and concerns. See the attached schedule of grants paid which identifies the various program areas and special projects supported.

To fulfill its mission to improve the quality of life and strengthen community, the Community Foundation is a partner that creates a better future for all by pursuing the community's greatest opportunities and addressing the most critical challenges, inclusively uniting people, institutions and resources from throughout the community and producing significant, widely shared and lasting results. In its Community Leadership role, the Community Foundation has convened community leaders from Clay, Sullivan and Vigo counties for a Community Prosperity Institute in July 2019. It then worked independently with leaders from each county to identify a focus for each county to submit an implementation grant under GIFT Phase VII. It also convened in Vigo County a Quality of Place meeting for area nonprofit and business leaders to discuss opportunities and concerns regarding visitor and resident attraction. It also initiated conversations to create the Wabash Valley Philanthropic Alliance which combines the development/advancement/fundraising professionals ...

In its mission to enrich the quality of life in the Wabash Valley, the Foundation awarded scholarships to worthy recipients who are residents or former residents of the Wabash Valley on the basis of criteria established for each award consistent with the fund's exempt purpose and focus.
