Program areas at Volunteers for Community Impact Incorporated
The foster grandparent program is a dual focused intergenerational program that recruits, screens and trains limited income senior Volunteers to serve children with special or exceptional needs. Foster grandparents receive a small non-taxable stipend to help offset the costs of volunteering. The children benefit from one-on-one attention given by the foster grandparent volunteer to assist the child with developmental, academic, and social deficits. Approx. 117,440 hours of service are provided.
The retired & senior volunteer program engages persons 55 and older in volunteer service to meet critical Community needs and to provide a high quality experience that will enrich the lives of Volunteers. Rsvp's goal is to promote the utilization of older persons as Community resources through volunteering their years of experience to organizations with specific needs that, when met, will have a positive Impact on the Community. Approximately 19,786 hours of service are provided.
