Program areas at VLP
Legal aid programs: in 2023 Volunteer Lawyers Project (vlp) worked with pro bono attorneys to serve low income people with a wide range of civil legal problems, including housing, eviction, foreclosure, child support, bankruptcy, wills, guardianship, unpaid wages, and unemployement benefits. In 2023, Volunteer Lawyers Project served approximately 7,885 clients (this includes 2,757 legal cases and 5,128 served with information and referral). Participating attorneys donated approximately 6,747 pro bono hours which vlp conservatively values at $2,361,450. Attorneys volunteered at courthouse projects to provide advice and representation in consumer, housing, guardianship, and family matters. Senior partners for justice continued its work in handling complex cases and mentoring less experienced attorneys.
