Program areas at VAC
The transportation program provides rides for senior citizens, persons with disabilities, and the public to and from various location for the purpose of receiving services, medical care, working, participating in activities or attending events to reduce isolation and promote independent living. These services provided over 62,000 rides during the year.
The nutritional services program consists of Meals on Wheels, senior luncheons, summer food programs and community dinners. Meals on Wheels provides a personal contact to ensure their well being. Summer food programs provide lunches and snacks in collaboration with park districts, camps, and housing authorities. Over 487,000 meals were provided during the fiscal year.
