Service Component 1: Education and Training Activity 1: As research data comes in, the primary prevention active bystander curriculum, based on indigenous values and traditions continues to be refined. Publication is expected by 2018. Changes have been made to the evaluation tool itself that have increased the effectiveness of the curriculum’s ability to document behavior change. Four of the original co-authors put in at least 50 hours a month teaching, planning, and developing the curriculum. Four volunteers put in another put in another hours a month on curriculum development. Service Component 2: Resource Development Provided serviceltraining and tailored techinical assistance on the Circle Process and the use of talking sticks at indigenous gatherings to promote leadership development and egalitarian decision-making in all aspects of indigenous life. Taught Circle Process as a means of resolving conflict and restoring communities to wholeness with accountability and healing as central community wellness. Partnered with Racial Justice Rising in providing monthly educational programs teaching community members how to identify oppression and become engaged bystanders in interrupting harmful acts. Participated in the NW Task Force on a monthly basis, networking with providers across systems. “Service Component 3: Dissemination of Educational Materials Activity 1: Prepare educational prevention materials: Members of VBCIC are preparing the curriculum for publication and have adapted the curriculum delivery to reflect the new evaluation tools that the two professional evaluators have suggested. These changes have enhanced the curriculum’s effectiveness, allowing for more time for discussion. The curriculum development committee meets weekly for two hours, making additions and edits to the curriculum. The curriculum itself serves as the protocc for addressing decisions, resolving conflict, developing prevention strategies for ending domestic and sexual violence at all indigenous gatherings. The Walking in Balance with All Our Relations curriculum will be a part of the National Sexual Violence Resource Center archives for all indigenous and multicultural groups to use in prevention of all forms of sexual assault. VBCIC hosts monthly gatherings for drumming and crafting where educational materials are shared with community members. VBCIC has participated in elder gatherings in South Dakota and Illinois where the bystander curriculum has been shared. VBCIC is You Tube sharing its work and bystander strategies
