Education and training:vhc provided education and training opportunities to hundreds of Health professionals, community service providers, safety net administrators, state agency partners, home visitors, community Health workers, and other allied partners to increase integrated oral Health services, education, and bi-directional referrals. The programs centered on workforce development, Health promotion, care coordination, clinical skill-building, patient-centered care, and oral Health policy. Of note, the 2023 Virginia oral Health summit featured speakers on water as a public Health issue and racial equity in healthcare access and treatment.
Public awareness and advocacy:vhc maintains a robust public awareness presence through in-person, online, and printed marketing and educational resources. Of note in 2023, vhc provided targeted advocacy training and outreach resources and revamped its website to include published works such as a water quality toolkit and workforce gap assessment. Furthermore, vhc cultivated qi learning collaboratives, statewide workgroups, and regional programs to address regional Health needs and challenges, as well as inform statewide public awareness and advocacy efforts.
