Program areas at Village Ranch
Residential programs: cokato: "reached the level of being fully staffed towards the end of 2022. An increase in starting wage helped attract more applicants. "continued to operate a two (2) program managers system and hired a training and development coordinator to work directly with staff. "participated in many community service projects in cokato and surrounding communities. Projects consisted of winstock set up and clean up, blood mobile, church/bible study, assisted individuals with yard work and other household chores, clearwater rodeo, cokato corn carnival, and set up movie in the park for the city of cokato. "averaged 30.06 residents per month out of 34. "referrals have been consistent but challenging with mental health and behavioral needs. Annandale: "implemented a therapist-run model with the therapist managing the client staffings and therapy and a program coordinator managing the girls residential programming. This did not work out as there was a divide between the two. Resulted in going back to a program manager model. "staff consistency in the program. Annandale maintained a core group of staff for 2022 however we ran short staffed the first half of the year. Towards the end of the year, we became fully staffed. "serviced a total of 28 clients. "community service project with the annandale food shelf. Family focus program: "between cokato and annandale family focused serviced a total of 21 clients in 2022. Family focus started to rebound after covid 19. "86% success rate for completing family focus. "families responded well to the family focus support. Hutchinson: "Village Ranch hired a new program manager in february 2022. He has been in different roles within the company for 9 years. "Village Ranch transitioned the program manager in rochester to the director role for hutchinson and rochester. "hutchinson continues using the virtues curriculum, hosting groups several nights a week. "hutchinson implemented a mentor program to assist in further developing the independent living skills curriculum. "hutchinson continues to maintain a good relationship with neighbors, school, and community. "hutchinson continued to be involved in the community. They assisted neighbors with various tasks, including lawn care. Residents were able to connect with the city of hutchinson and work on some painting projects. Residents also volunteered to assist with various church activities, clean up during the civic center renovation, and assisted during various local festivals. "hutchinson serviced a total of 28 residents in 2022. This was an increase over 23 in 2021. "hutchinson house experienced no restrictive procedures in 2022. Rochester: "rochester served 31 residents in 2022. This was an increase of 3 residents over 2021. "rochester has maintained good occupancy with a continued flow of referrals, primarily from central to southern Minnesota. "rochester hired a new full-time overnight position during 2022. "rochester continues to have consistent therapy services provided by fernbrook. "rochester continues to expand on independent living skills and has worked closely with the school in assisting residents in work study programs that provide the opportunity for paid internships. "rochester program "adopted" cook park in rochester and are responsible for park cleanup twice a month. In addition to this, residents continue to provide lawn care and snow removal for local neighbors. Residents also participated in the empty bowls fund raiser for channel one food bank. "rochester experienced 14 successful discharges. This was up one (1) compared to the previous year. These discharges included residents transitioning to their own apartment, adult group homes, home, and the military. "rochester had zero restrictive procedures in 2022.
Foster care program: "a total of 104 youth served in the foster care program. This total includes long-term placements, short-term, respite, emergency, and shelter placements. "a total of 12,531 administrative days were billed. "there were 9 adoptions, 3 relative transfers of custody. "licensed eight (8) new homes in 2022. "eight (8) homes were closed in 2022. Reasons for closing: -relative licenses that closed after the transfer of custody (3) -closed after finalizing adoptions (2) -closed to focus on their own teen daughter with mental health concerns (1) -closed to retire from foster care (2) "word of mouth seems to be the best recruitment tool currently. There are some facebook support groups out there and some are contacting the agency after learning about Village Ranch through this platform. "total licensed homes currently: 30. Three (3) new licenses in process, two (2) other inquiries. "monthly foster care support group/training continues and is well received by foster parents. A yearly schedule was developed with tim for a total of nine (9) training courses throughout the year. "completed the dhs review with positive feedback from dhs and minor corrections. "the foster care team is fully staffed hired nora and mikaela, with nora starting in november and mikaela in january. "we have some great families doing an incredible job of supporting children in their home. We are blessed as a program to continue to have families do the hard work, day in and day out and we are forever grateful for them
