Program areas at Village Hopecore International

The organization focuses on disease prevention and health promotion through community outreach, health education, mosquito net distribution, and clinical services in schools & homes. With the help of a kenyan nurse, local community health workers and youth peer educators, over 1,000 people are reached each month with messages of health, along with free testing & treatment for the most common diseases such as malaria. Clean drinking water and handwashing stations are maintained in 200 schools, serving approximately 50,000 schoolchildren. School mobile health clinics reach 72 schools and provide services to 20,000 students. Covid educational visits were provided to the entire service region.
The organization provides microloans to households in the area to establish microenterprises to lift themselves, and their families, out of poverty. The microfinance program includes comprehensive business training on agriculture, accounting and marketing as well as regular business monitoring and support throughout the two year loan cycle. So far during the duration of the program, there has been a 35% reduction in poverty for program participants.
