Program areas at USCAN
Outreach - uscan supports Network members' participation in education coalition activities and information sharing. Activities include coordinating Action teams and ad hoc member committees to provide leadership and guidance for core Network functions; an annual all member meeting to build trust, alignments and to strategize; provide peer-learning opportunities; provide Network participation scholarships to leaders of color and leaders from low-wealth communities; provide member empowerment grants for grassroots groups, and frontline members; and to conduct two annual member surveys to understand the progress towards their vision.
International - uscan supports members in international spaces such as the united nations framework convention on Climate change meeting spaces. Uscan facilitates collaboration with their local, national and international members to deepen and strengthen work happening at each level. This work will influence the design and development of an effective, equitable global strategy to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and ensure its implementation at the international, national and local levels.other programs - uscan creates Network effectiveness by maintaining a democratically driven Network where members decide where to designate uscan staff and resources around programs and activities that members want to work on together.southeast Climate and energy Network - uscan's southeast Climate and energy Network's mission is the strategic coordination among organizations in the southeast to secure fair, and just science-based Climate and energy policies. Green new deal coordination team - the team is a body of organizations committed to a three-pronged strategic campaign that will shape an auspicious post-2020 election moment and then be positioned to pass groundbreaking green new deal legislation and defend its implementation. Equitable and ambitious Climate vision - this is a vision of just and equitable policies with the goal of satisfying what Climate science says is necessary to hold global average temperature rise to 1.5 degrees celsius. These policy solutions may be added to, amended, or crystallized in the future based on the work outputs innovation, case studies of success, and/or further understanding of the policy changes that are necessary.
Arm in arm - the purpose of arm in arm is to create a decentralized, bottom-up movement that reflects the diversity of the united states. Its central work is to reach new activists and train them to center racial and economic justice through acts of "disruptive humanitarianism and mass escalation.
