Urbanpromise Trenton equips Trenton's youth with skills for academic achievement, life management, spiritual growth, and leadership. It also offers community outreach programming through the East Trenton Collaborative and an experiential learning program called TrentonTrekkers for students in grades 7-12. These programs focus on cross-cultural experiences, historical perspectives, and environmental awareness.

Program areas at Urbanpromise Trenton

StreetLeader Program - Provides Trenton high school students with employment opportunities to work for UPT in the AfterSchool and SummerCamp programs or other area employers during the summer. The students also participate in enrichment activities outside of work. Approximately 30 teens participated in the program.
Community Outreach Programming with the East Trenton Collaborative - A community organizing and development initiative in the East Trenton neighborhood of Trenton's North Ward which facilitates action to achieve neighborhood goals and making East Trenton a great place to live, work, and play. The program is funded through the Neighborhood Revitalization Tax Credit (NRTC) program. The program reaches hundreds of residents in the East Trenton neighborhood.
AfterSchool Program - Trenton youth in grades 1-8 are offered a free after school program during the school year which provides the youth with academic and social support through mentorship, tutoring, and promotion of spirituality, leadership, and a sense of community. It is offered at two sites and reaches over 75 youth.
SummerCamp Program - A free 6-week summer program offered to youth in grades 1-8. The participants rotate through stations that focus on academics, art, phys. ed., and Biblical principles/ethics as well as participate in an additional enrichment program during the afternoons. It is offered at two sites and reaches over 75 youth.
College Program - Supports former UPT students who now attend college through scholarships, academic assistance, and other resources that will increase the students' success. Ten students participate in this program.
TrentonTrekkers - Experiential learning program offered to students in grades 7-12 throughout the year. The youth travel to places beyond their everyday lives on trips that focus on cross-cultural experiences, historical perspectives, environmental awareness, and community service. Students are motivated to learn from their TrentonTrekker journeys and carry that motivation into their studies. Approximately 30 students participated in this program.
