Program areas at Urban Hope
Highlights of Urban Hope's program accomplishments for 2022: By the end of 2022, Urban Hope provided 31 units of rental housing, with over 86 tenants living in stable, safe, affordable housing. With tremendous community support, 99% of our tenants stably and safely housed throughout the last year. Several of our clients moved from unstable circumstances and escaped displacement by transitioning into our rentals. Urban Hope completed its second mortgage refinancing of a multi- family property, completed construction on its first four-bedroom single-family home, purchased an abandoned church building with a vision to renovate into Urban Hope's headquarters and four affordable rental units. Urban Hope maintained partnership with 48 private lenders, which supported the purchase and renovation of properties. Urban Hope launched two pilot homeownership programs (Lease to Own and Opportunity House). Urban Hope launched a pilot financial cohort program, successfully graduating nine members and matching their savings 5:1. We continued offering financial health to the public as well. Despite difficult health problems and job loss, our clients and tenants demonstrated great resilience and reliance on one another to continue pursuing their financial goals. UH helped many tenants secure rental relief for their pandemic hardships. Urban Hope made great strides towards our mission of making home a cornerstone of opportunity by keeping it affordable.
