Program areas at Unity House of Cayuga County
Restorative services: the restorative services portion of the agency's funding is primarily housing. The housing services provided run a continuum from offering services in a non certified setting to providing support and services in a 24/7 setting. The disability groups that are served consist of individuals who are recovering from chemical addiction, people recovering from a mental illness as well as people diagnosed with a developmental disability. The services provided in the housing component are designed to assist the individuals to live in the least restrictive setting in their home town community. Staff work with the individuals on everything from activities of daily living, to developing natural supports, having a sense of security and a sense of well being.
Employment services: this program operates on this basic premise - Unity employment services works with people to choose, obtain and maintain a competitively paid job in the community.
Rehabilitation services: the rehabilitation services provided by the agency are varied. Day/community habilitation comprise a major portion of these services and are geared towards people with developmental disabilities. The focus being on developing natural supports in thecommunity, gaining the skills and knowledge on how to navigate and utilize community resources, and participating in activities that foster inclusion and integration.
