As the implementing partner for the wwicc to achieve its mission to educate americans about the impact of world war i (wwi) on the u.s. today, commemorate the service of over 4 million americans who served in wwi, and honor the sacrifice of the 116,525 americans who sacrificed their lives for freedom, the usfcww supported national education programs, led a national conversation and grassroots centennial activities across the country, and raised over $13 million to design and build the national wwi memorial in Washington, d.c.the foundation supported the commission to implement $2.5 million in education programs that reached more than 4 million students through national education partners. The wwi centennial news podcast achieved 1.2m lifetime downloads.the commission launched the bells of peace program that generated 165 proclamations from cities and towns including 48 states.
