Ukrainian studies - supporting research at Harvard, Columbia and other North American universities; funding teaching programs in Ukrainian language, history, literature and culture; expanding Ucrainica collections at major university libraries; supporting academic publishing in Ukrainian studies and preservation of archival source material for studies of Ukrainian history, language, society and culture.
Famine Study Project - investigates the catastrophic famine of 1932-33 in Soviet Ukraine through support of research, publications, preservation of archival source material related to the famine period, outreach to scholars, educators and the public.
Project on Democracy in Ukraine - supports research and analysis of political, economic, social and cultural transformations in Ukraine. Involves Columbia, Harvard and other universities; features support for scholarly activities, including joint publication efforts, conferences and workshops, book distribution programs.
