Description
Turning the Page empowers public school parents to become active participants in their children's education and leaders in their school communities. It provides skills and resources to more than 500 parents in Washington, DC and Chicago to become effective educators of their children at home and advocates for them at school. With the onset of COVID, Turning the Page continued to provide these programs virtually. Additionally, it links teachers and students with resources to enhance their educational experiences and performance.

Program areas at Turning the Page

Provided more than 300 public school parents in Washington, DC and Chicago with skills and resources to become effective educators of their children at home and advocates for their children in school. During the year, TTP transitioned its programs back from its COVID era digital and virtual programs to a combination of in-person parent workshops, museum experiences and book distributions while maintaining and growing our pandemic era programs Mobile Meetings and Digital Hub. During mobile meetings, parents and TTP collaboratively strategies to enhance at-home learning, connect with their children's schools and access educational resources in the community. Via the Digital Hub, parents access both at-home learning strategies and information about local educational resources.
