True Connections Community Programs

True Connections Community Programs provided Adult Day Program services to thirty adults this year. We operate on a one to four ratio. One Direct Service Professional to four clients. We are a vibrant community full of laughter and fun. Each day is packed with client-driven activities. These include art projects, sewing, coloring, games, word finds and computer activities. Our communication groups can be very entertaining. Clients practice and improve social skills and friendship building. Community integration is a big part of each week. Trips to the grocery store, coffee shops, thrift stores and retail shops are included in our weekly schedule. These excursions help our clients learn money management skills. Plus, they all interact with the public. Each Friday our entire unit heads out into the community for the day. Friday adventures are planned by our clients. Fun filled days were spent in Old Sacramento, local art galleries, and exploring the little city of Dixon. The city of Woodland offered many community integration opportunities, shopping at Costco, exploring the public art and discovering a hidden used bookstore.Healthy eating is a huge part of our Day Program. We teach kitchen safety and healthy eating. Four days per week our clients and staff work together to plan and prepare a healthy lunch. Two of those days are vegetarian. Families are shocked to hear their family members eat all their vegetables.True Connections Community Programs is open Monday through Friday, from 9am to 2pm. Alta California Regional Center refers clients, they also pay the daily fee for each client.
