Program areas at Trickle Up Program

Program implementation:trickle Up implemented its core graduation Program through local partners in burkina faso, bangladesh,guatemala, mexico, india, and vietnam. The graduation approach includes a carefully sequenced series of interventions including targeting the poorest families, supporting them in forming self-help groups to build savings and credit, selection of an appropriate livelihood activity with close and regular coaching, and the provision of a seed capital grant to begin the livelihood activity. Trickle Up provided training, grants and savings support to 54,819 participants in burkina faso, senegal, mauritania and chad, to 6,925 participants in guatemala and mexico, and to 99,913 participants in india, bangladesh and vietnam and 10,122 participants in uganda, and various other refugee projects for a total of 171,799 participants. Technical support:with support from the bureau of population, refugees and migration at the us state department, usaid/food for peace and other partners, Trickle Up has expanded its work with populations affected by displacement in fy19. Working in partnership with the united nations high commissioner for refugees (unhcr) and international ngo partners (including avsi foundation, the norwegion refugee council and caritas switzerland) we have:a. Established and supported, with remote and in-country technical assistance, graduation approach projects in 9 countriesb. Built its capacity to contribute to the graduation and refugees community of practice - including unhcr, ngo partners, and government actors - through the documentation and dissemination of good practices and learnings. Program support:trickle Up has a small Program team based in our headquarters office that provides oversight and technical coordination to the in-country and humanitarian technical asistance teams and facilitates coordination and learning across Program units and with external actors active in the poverty alleviation space. The headquarters team visits each office periodically over the course of the year to provide technical support and oversight and engages with government partners in each of the regions support strategic planning for joint demonstration projects project embedded in existing pro-poor policies and programs.
