Program areas at Triage Cancer

Triage Cancer is a national, nonprofit organization that provides free legal and practical information that may impact individuals diagnosed with Cancer and their caregivers, through events, materials, and resources. Triage Cancer offers an educational blog (triagecancer.org/blog) and hosts cancerfinances.org, which provides education and resources on navigating finances after a Cancer diagnosis. Our free legal financial & navigation program assisted 1,289 individuals diagnosed with Cancer, caregivers, and health care professionals with free one-on-one help in the areas of health insurance, disability insurance, employment, finances, medical decision-making, estate planning, and more. The goal of these navigation services is to explain options, provide accurate information, and empower people to take next steps. We help people find their way - or navigate - through the legal, financial, and practical barriers that they may face after diagnosis. Triage Cancer hosts more than 30 events a year for patients and caregivers, and conducts trainings to help oncology health care professionals and advocates navigate people through these practical and legal issues, thereby mitigating financial toxicity, and improving their survivorship outcomes and quality of life.in 2022, we reached more than 1.3 million people through our educational materials, triagecancer.org, cancerfinances.org, our educational blog, and newsletters. In 2022 alone, we educated nearly 42,000 people at more than 147 online and in-person educational events across the country.triage Cancer produced 14 new quick guides, checklists, and worksheets on cancer-related topics in 2022. The practical guide to Cancer rights for caregivers won two awards: a national mature media award, and a digital health award (spring). Also in 2022, the practical guide to Cancer rights for seniors won two awards: a national mature media award, and a digital health award (fall). In 2022, we also released two new resource hubs on medicare and medicaid. Our animated video, "what is medicaid?" Won a fall 2022 digital health award.
