Treasure House Fashions

Treasure House Fashions is a nonprofit women's resale shop - The "closet" for over 60 agencies in The greater pittsburgh area, but The public can shop there as well, generating operating revenue and supporting The mission. 1) gift certificates for clothing at our shop were distributed through over 60 local agencies. Those experiencing suburban poverty can purchase quality clothing at deeply discounted prices or receive free clothing through "pay it forward" gift certificates. The political brief prepared by The university of pittsburgh (2016) reported 61% of poverty in allegheny county and 79% in The pittsburgh metropolitan area are in The suburbs. Those who had minimal disruption from The pandemic generously underwrote "pay it forward" gift certificates that were distributed directly through The shop when those in need showed up. 2) Treasure House Fashions continued to receive abundant clothing and passed along The generosity with 60% off (or more in special sales). This added discount on quality clothing was a boost to any budget and was deeply appreciated by all who continued to navigate these ecomomically challenging times. 3) Treasure House Fashions hosted 10 social girls' night out (gnos), generating 7,430 and hosted 4 sponsored gnos with local businesses and organizations. 4) Treasure House Fashions strenthened relationships with other nonprofits including strategic alliance with sister's place, volunteer opportunities for clients of garden home ministries, and sheltered workshop opportunities for some clients.
