Program areas at Travis Association for the Blind

The association provides social services and vocational education by assisting the blind in solving problems that include, but are not limited to housing, aids, ssi, ssdi benefits, medical referral and referrals to other agencies. The association assists those in need by purchasing glasses and reading aids. Computer classes are also conducted on a regular basis. The association also provides highly qualified instructors to teach mobility training and long cane travel and functions. The association operates a sheltered workshop that provides transitional and extended employment for the blind. The blind workers manufacture belts, straps, 3 ring binders, key cases, award plaques and various other products which it sells to federal, state, and local governments. Blind workers are also employed in our distribution center and perform picking and packing functions of products which are shipped to the federal government.
