Program areas at Durango Trails
Trails 2000 plans, builds, and maintains area trails systems; educates trail users and creates connections. Working with area land managers, the organization works from April through October on the area trails and oversees over 25-45 pubic and private volunteer trail projects each season in order to steward, conserve and maintain the area trails for residents and visitors. Organizing volunteer days, educating trail users via programs, ambassadors, social media and website, encouraging connectivity to enhance the trail network is directly tied to the economic, physical and social well being benefits to the community. Approximately 3500 hours of volunteer service on the trails, valued at $110,285
