Program areas at Track Two - An Institute For Citizen Diplomacy

Since 1980, Track Two: An Institute for Citizen Diplomacy worked closely with the former Republics of the Soviet Union and Russia and has convened influencers from countries in conflict in immersion workshops and conferences. These conferences stimulate discussions, forge relationships and activate networks that complete projects and influence publics towards greater peace. These networks have established formal partnerships in peace building, space exploration, culture, journalism, the visual arts and health care. In 2024, Track Two has:Convened 10 meetings online to discuss strategy, status of various environmental projects, to re-engage with previously "lost" network membersIssued a bi-weekly report on the status of the Ukraine War and the Israel-Hamas war from a variety of perspectivesConvened an in-person meeting of 32 individuals for five days to create plans for post-war citizen diplomacy activitiesPrepared a toolkit for exilesContinued work on the history of Track Two for publication in 2025/2026Launched a project with a Track Two co-founder to tell the varied story of citizen diplomacy that shifted the paradigm of US-Russian relations in the 1980s and 1990s.
