Towards Employment (te) has over 40 years of experience successfully helping people gain the tools they need to find a job, navigate life's obstacles, and secure a path toward a long-term career - over 126,000 people since 1976. In 2022 Towards Employment served 1,830 individuals with 418 placed into Employment and 184 advancing in their careers. We partner with over 300 businesses who have confidence in our proven training programs and personal coaching to prepare new and current employees for career success. We are a leading community-based workforce organization in northeast Ohio, working to influence the wider system, regional economy, and local community through extensive expertise and reliable partnerships. In 2022 our programs included:community & reentry career pathways: - career pathways: open to all in the greater cleveland area with criminal backgrounds, economic and other barriers to Employment.- jail: in county jails to provide pre-release services and connection to Towards Employment - programming post release- young adult workforce: working with young adults 18-24 to provide career readiness services.- access to manufacturing: working with manufacturers in northeast Ohio, this program provides job readiness and technical training for entry level manufacturing jobs and post Employment coaching for retention and advancement. - step up to university hospital: customized recruitment, soft skills/job readiness workshop and post-employment coaching. Our programming includes job readiness, job placement, and job retention and career advancement with on-going career coaching and supportive services. Retention and advancement services include career exploration and coaching, professional development planning, personal wellness and workplace success training. Supportive services provide connections to basic needs for participants who encounter barriers during their job search/employment, and for newly employed low-income individuals who need temporary assistance to transition to Employment. These include legal services to remove barriers to Employment or job retention such as credit/debt issues, bankruptcy, foreclosure, or criminal issues. In addition, we leverage local and national funding to support collaborative initiatives to improve workforce services for key stakeholders, including disconnected young adults, individuals with criminal histories, and low-income jobseekers.
