Program areas at Their Place
Disability allies provides services to individuals with developmental disabilities. Their primary program is an in home supports program where a direct support professional serves as a link to the community for the consumer with developmental disabilities. The dsp assists the consumer with activities of daily living and encourage attitudes and behaviors that enhance community inclusion. Approximately 150 consumers were served in this program.
Day habilitation services program- the program generally operates five days a week and is individually tailored for individuals to learn new skills, pursue individual interests, and attain lifelong goals and dreams. Escorted by highly trained Their Place staff, shopping, museum tours, and other trips are planned with our staff, and family members, and each person's transportation to and from home can be provided. Customized options are available for those persons living at home who prefer to experience community-based outings a few hours a week. Activities, services, and supports are provided to enhance skills. Approximately 15 individuals were served in 2023.
Disability allies also runs a prevocational program at its inclusion where groups of individuals attend classes for cooking, music, and recreational activities. The program also focuses on teaching individuals with special needs the skills needed to prepare for gainful employment. Approximately 95 consumers were served in this program. During the pandemic, many of the classes were provided on a virtual basis.
Their are several other programs available including leadership academy, recreation, special events for consumers and beyond the bell.
