Program areas at Washington Baltimore Center for Psychoanalysis
Continuing education: the Washington Baltimore psychoanalytic institute offers three educational programs: the psychoanalytic studies program (psp): a two year program which introduces students to essential concepts in Psychoanalysis. for students interested in becoming clinical psychoanalysts, psp will be credited as the first two years of the four and a half year psychoanalytic curriculum. Adult psychoanalytic training: comprehensive training in psychoanalytic theory and technique, building on the concepts learned in the psp program. Graduates of the program are qualified to practice clinical Psychoanalysis with adults. Child/adolescent psychoanalytic training: comprehensive training in the theory and practice of Psychoanalysis with children and adolescents.
Continuing professional development. Wbcp provides accredited progamming for a variety of mental health professionals which enhanced their professional development and enhances their clinical skills. Many of the programs offered meet the licensure and accredidation requirments of various mental health professions.
Membership: wbcp provides to members with the following benefits: study groups-optional classes, resource for candidates, students, members, and patients to express concerns about illness, impairment or other difficulties, continuing professional education credits for physicians, for psychologists and for social workers, annual scientific meetings and workshops on psychoanalytic topics, e-newsletter, a subscription to psychoanalytic electronic publishing (pepweb).
