In its goal to promote The phoenix metropolitan area through sports, The Thunderbirds promoted and produced The waste management phoenix open golf tournament. The tournament was nationally broadcast by The golf channel and cbs. It was attended by a record number of people, generated total revenues in excess of $65m with estimated expenses of $55m. The total economic impact to The phoenix metropolitan area was over $500m through this event over $14m was generated for local amateur athletic programs and other non-profit organizations serving youth and families.
We also provided volunteers and $17,867 in donations and expenses for The special olympics of Arizona summer games.
The Thunderbirds provided volunteers and over $50k support for 2 collegiate and 4 high school amateur golf tournaments.
