Program areas at Workshop Learning

To accomplish the organization's mission, collaborative projects were designed for high school students that present difficult and evolving challenges for them. The students will work through these challenges together and will be able to document the results of their work. These experiences will provide them with the opportunities to unleash their creative and intellectual potential. Planning for these projects was undertaken throughout the fiscal year, and the actual projects were implemented in the school year. This work is done through three primary channels: 1. The Workshop school - a high school that envisions graduates who value Learning and growth, build community, and know how to shape their lives and our world. The school focuses on real-world Learning to develop the skills most needed for college and career success, stresses the value of community, and teaches students to reflect on and grow from experiences inside and outside the classroom. 2. Learning@workshop - through electronic resources, professional development and consulting, learning@workshop aims to share lessons learned with a community far beyond west philadelphia. 3. Workshop u - at Workshop u, students learn to go deep on their strengths, interests and values; identify and access experiences to help them grow, and build skills to help them excel in educational and work settings; and continually review and assess their goals and their development.
