Funded program expansion by offering family navigators and literacy specialists employment to directly support children and families that are struggling with reading comprehension. Hosted a 3 day literacy festival aimed to increase awareness of best-practice strategies and tools that are culturally relevant to eligible scholars and families.
Enhanced awareness by participating in local news articles and on screen interviews bringing focus to the reading achievement gaps Developed assessment tools and scholar recommendations to help ensure reading plans are maintained and monitored.
Planned and faciliated family education events around supporting children with literacy skills. Distributed books at hosted events and fostered meaningful sessions so that caregivers can build capacity to support scholars reading development plans.
