Program areas at The Nova School Association

Nova is an independent middle school. Nova's vision is inspiring lifelong learning for a more compassionate, engaged world. We do this by providing an educational program for highly capable students in grades 6 - 8. Nova's mission is fostering the joyful pursuit of intellectual, social, and emotional expansion through a challenging curriculum that nourishes highly capable middle school students to develop identity, self-empowerment, and community. This program is delivered through a full-time program.
Nova highly values an engaged and inspired faculty to meet the needs of nova's student population. Nova directs funds toward teacher conferences and other forms of professional development. Whether content specific or focused on the developmental needs of highly capable middle school age students, this is provided so that teachers have an opportunity to expand their thinking, skills and professional networks.
Nova School has a philosophical commitment to providing financial assistance for students who have met the admissions standards but are unable to pay the full tuition. Nova uses a "blind" need based review process. To meet this commitment, the School has provided significant financial aid to assist approximately 40% of the current student body.
