The National Development Council operates two CDFIs, Grow America Fund and NDC Community Impact Loan Fund, which provide services across the nation including in five of the ten most distressed cities in America: Cleveland, Buffalo, Newark, Cincinnati, and San Bernardino. Encourage and foster business ownership by members of disadvantaged groups:through ga's advisory services and small business lending units, we have assisted nonprofits and small businesses owned by disadvantaged individuals or individuals located in low-income census tracts across the nation by providing sba guaranteed 7a loans, sba guaranteed ppp loans, covid recovery grants, non-guaranteed loans, training and business counseling services. (cont. On schedule o)- ga's two cdfi's, Grow America fund (gaf) and Community impact loan fund (cilf), operate in distressed communities nation-wide. - the us small business administration has consistently acknowledged gaf as a mission-based lender, with a mission to make credit available to disadvantaged businesses and to help those businesses succeed through our technical assistance. Gaf is also an sba preferred lender.- cilf is a member of the federal home loan bank of new york.
To provide housing for low income individuals and families:ga conducts training and provides counseling and technical assistance to disadvantaged communities and nonprofit organizations in support of providing housing for low-income persons. Working with the National rural housing coalition, rural lisc, cdfi's, neighborhood housing corporations and various state affordable housing coalitions, ga provides continuing technical assistance, training, and financial support to rural housing organizations across the nation.(cont. On schedule o)hedc is a National leader in low-income housing through both Development and investment. Working in partnership with nonprofit organizations and service providers around the nation, hedc has developed, financed, operated, and/or managed more than 14,000 units of quality, safe, adequate, and affordable low-income housing equating to billions of dollars in investment in low-income communities across the country.
Ga conducts training and provides counseling and technical assistance to disadvantaged communities for support of local economic Development and Community Development. Annually, ga typically provides technical assistance to 100+ communities and has trained more than 85,000 Community Development professionals since its inception. Students are drawn from nonprofit Community Development corporations, Community Development finance institutions, federal, state and local government, Community foundations and other organizations working in economic, housing and Community development.(cont. On schedule o)ga social infrastructure:ga, through its affiliate ndc housing and economic Development corp. (hedc), also partners with units of local government to erect and maintain public buildings, monuments, and facilities; and to promote social welfare. The underlying mission is to "lessen the burden of government. Projects include public buildings and city halls, educational and medical research facilities, student housing, parking facilities and other public infrastructure. Hedc works with nonprofit organizations, service providers and units of local government to stimulate economic Development in the economically depressed neighborhoods across the nation. Working through the new markets tax credit program along with other financing tools for small businesses and nonprofits, hedc creates employment and entrepreneurial opportunities for disadvantaged groups and individuals, combats Community deterioration, and eliminates slum and blight through new investment in low-income communities to rehabilitate and revitalize neighborhoods.
