Program areas at The Maple Counseling Center
The Maple Counseling Center (tmcc) provides low-cost comprehensive mental health services to individuals of all ages, couples, and families, and training of graduates and postgraduates for licensure in The mental health field. Maple's diverse client population comes from communities primarily within The greater los angeles area and throughout all of California. Maple relies primarily on support from government, foundations, corporations, and individuals to supplement its client fees, which constitute 25% of annual revenue. Client fees are on a sliding scale and determined based on The client's annual income.maple's programs serve a primarily low-income clientele. Using hud guidelines for los angeles county, 87% of Maple's clients are considered low-income, with 52% considered extremely low-income income with annual wages of less than $20,000. The average fee per session in 2022 was $30.00. Maple services support The mental wellbeing of individuals of all ages, from infants through The advanced elderly, and include Counseling for adults, couples, older adults, teens, children, and families. Low-cost psychiatric evaluation is available for eligible clients who may need prescription medication in addition to Counseling. Maple also offers several school-based programs from pre-k to 12th grade, including individual Counseling, group therapy, parent and teacher/admin education, as well as social-emotional learning for tk-5th grade schools via The longstanding community circle program.maple's dual mission- to serve clients and to train clinicians, allows us to leverage low-cost clinical time of interns and associates to provide high quality services that are accessible on a sliding fee scale. In 2022, Maple served over 3,000 individuals, totaling over 28,000 service hours. Via Maple's clinic-based services, 1,545 clients received therapy services in all programs combined. The remaining 1,500+ clients were supported at local schools, working with youth in pre-k through 12th grade. Each week, Maple provides services to an average of 550 clients via its Center, and over 1,200 students annually via school-based programs. Maple also provided training to 116 masters and doctoral-level graduate interns in 2022, who were supervised by 12 licensed clinical staff.all programs except for psychiatry services are provided by highly trained volunteers. Therapy services are provided by interns who are graduate and post-graduate students in psychology, social work, and marriage and family therapy working toward licensure. Interns are supervised by highly qualified licensed clinical staff, as well as an additional 40 offsite volunteer licensed clinical therapists.
