Program areas at Sharing Our Roots

Central farm: sor manages 100-acres of farmland in se mn, Our programming includes land restoration work through conservation easements, supporting a cohort of beginning farmers with land access, perennial crop management, and wildlife monitoring.
Fundraising/development: sor development committee's (comprised of staff and board) primary responsibility is to guide and execute fundraising efforts to fulfill the organization's mission. The committee plays a strong role in identifying, cultivating, and approaching new donors and securing new funding sources such as grants, and planning and executing campaigns.
Community connectors: sor employs 2 pt and 2 ft staff to address community food insecurity. Together they coordinate 6 neighborhood gardens, supporting over 120 families produce vegetables for home consumption. The connectors also work with local partners (e.g. Foodshelves) to do food distributions.
