Program areas at The Lot Project
The Lot. The Lot serves meals, and also provides clothing and basic needs items, to those in our community who are homeless, transient,or otherwise in The most extreme levels of need. In 2022, 9,749 meals were distributed and 14,681 articles of clothing , shoes, and basic needs items were distributed. Also in 2022, The Lot redistributed meals and articles of clothing, coats, pairs of shoes and hygiene items to surrounding not- for- profits. During 2022, The Lot collaborated with agencies such as clean start, hope missions, and The salvation army to feed those in shelters.
Artisan gardens- The Lot operates two community gardens (developing a third) in a very depressed neighborhood near their location. These gardens provide a place for community members and volunteers to come together to grow food, faith, and friendship. The Lot provides produce from these gardens to The surrounding community, and also uses them as greenspaces where neighbors can enjoy The outdoors.
West market makers - a program that is under development but not yet fully operational. It will serve as a community workshop and workspace.volunteers are engaged in building out this space and helping us to develop The program as we expect it to fully launch in june 2023. During 2022 progress was made on The building, and The building was placed in service.
The village homes consist of a single housing unit. The home was constructed by The leadership anderson program and was donated to The Lot Project in 2021. The program provides a transitional housing unit - a stepping stone - available to those who have graduated from local residential care facilities or rehab programs.
