The Institute's active projects are in The areas of guaranteed income, higher education finance, social wealth, and digital ethics & governance. It manages phenomenal world, a publication devoted to rigorous and innovative writing on economics, history, finance, policy, and politics. The Institute also helps design and incubate new philanthropic initiatives brought to us by partners in government, industry, academia, and other sectors. Two new such initiatives in 2022 were The new Institute of political economy, focused on macroeconomic policy, history, and law, and The center for active stewardship, focused on The relationship between The asset management industry and private sector action on climate change. The fund for guaranteed income, incubated by The Institute starting in 2020, became an independent 501(c)(3) in 2022.
