Autism research and technology initiative: The Hartwell Foundation launched an autism research and technology intiative (ihart) to empower The global scientific research community with open access to a centralized repository of autism data with The potential to benefit children. Accessed through The internet, this cloud-based computing and technology platform will ultimately deploy state-of-the-art computational tools of systems biology, machine learning and inference algorithms to inspire users to exploit The full potential of available information about autism. The intiative is aimed at providing a comprehensive scientific resource that will enable complex queries regarding The known spectrum of autism disorders; including, but not limited to: phenotypes, genomics, proteomics, metabolomics, measurements and imaging of brain activity, biomaker and diagnostic test results, treatment protocols and physician narratives.
Child research awards and education: funds are awarded to researchers through an application process. Only individuals nominated by participating institutions are considered for funding and only research that has The potential to benefit children in The usa is considered. Funded researchers are encouraged to publish research findings openly and disseminate results to others.
