The organization provides substance abuse rehabilitation services. The operations of the Halfway House of Westchester, Inc. , are supported by an operating budget provided by NY State's office of alcoholism ' and subtance abuse services (OASAS). The program requires the Halfway House of Westchester, provide the housing facilities, while OASAS provides funding for operations, including staff salaries,food,utilities and other program costs. OASAS does not provide funding for facility rent.
Provision of transitional housing to men and woman who have received treatment for alcohol or substance abuse problems needing temporary transitional assistance while seeking a job, finding a permanent place to live and establishing themselves in the community. The fooundation uses services of a wholly owned reale state holding and housing management company to operate the facilities, including the payment of real estate taxes, collecting rents forom participants and payment of program expenses. All management functions are performed by uncompensated board members or volunteers. The expenses stated above represents the net loss of the real estate holding company, which is included in the foundation's records under category of earnings (losses) from the operations of 12 Longview Avenue Corp.
