Program areas at The Evergreen State College Foundation
Student aid.evergreen has a long tradition of serving a diverse population of students. As of fall 2023, almost 20% of The students are The first in their family to go to College. Roughly three quarters of Evergreen's students receive financial aid and 30% have incomes below The federal poverty level. Scholarships and fellowships help Evergreen students stay in school, earn their degrees, and make a positive impact in their communities. In The 2022-2023 academic year, 283 students received donor-funded scholarships and 155 students received emergency aid to assist with expenses from unexpected emergencies.
Public service centers.in demonstration of Evergreen's strong commitment to give back to The communities it serves, The College currently operates public service centers including The "house of welcome" culteral arts center, The center for community-based learning and action, The Washington center for improving undergraduate education, and The sustainability in prisions project. The Foundation supports these public service centers by securing and administering private gifts including grants to enhance their programs.
Academic support, research, and other College support.the Foundation provides support to The College that adds excellence to The Evergreen educational experience. Foundation support for The College bolsters a variety of programs, including launching The new center for climate action and sustainability center, faculty professional developement and research, The kaos radio station, The library, The Evergreen student civic engagement institute, entrepreneurship, paths curriculum planning reform, lecture series, and The center for creative and applied media.
Other programs include activities associated with Foundation grants to The College to implement The forever green campaign.
